Single start trapezoidal spindles are most common amongst builders of CNC machines and typically suit the majority of applications that require a trapezoidal spindle.

Multi start trapezoidal spindles are as the name suggests have 2 or more starts on the spindle which means an increase in speed of the travelling nut and increased load capacity however an great initial force is required meaning careful selection of stepper motor is required.
